My favorite movies

I was out to the cinema yesterday evening, watching Mystic River. Great film, it ended up on my favorite movies list, which I created yesterday. This is certainly not the final version, but the films that I came immediately up with… Still need ot think a bit. I’m sure I’ve forgotten some which will replace others…

Top Movies

AnnaToday I was out for lunch with Anna Maria Szczepanska. I discovered that she likes movies just as much as I do and her Top 30 favorite movies list inspired me to think about my favorite films. Mmmh, that’s something which is not easy to answer. However, I will try to come up with something soon…

P.S. I linked to her picture on her web page witout any permission. Copyright resides with her as far as I know.

Göteborg

Yesterday, I took the afternoon off in order to get to know the city. Unfortunately all the museums are closed on mondays >:(. To make my day, it was foggy and started to drizzle(sp?) lateron. I had to recover my spirits by buying a new small electronic device . More on that later. On the picture is the Gothenburg opera.

Being in Göteborg

I arrived yesterday in Göteborg. There I will be the guest of the Viktoria Institutet. Basicallz I continue to do my regular research on Knowledge reuse in open source projects. However, I will present my work in a seminar here. Hopefully, I will also get to know the city better and some of the people which live and work here. So far it seems like a nice town. I’ll hopefully get arounf to post a few pictures here.

Chessbrain

Chessbrain (distributed chess playing) set up a new world record. Ang guess who is on the “meet the team page”. Oh yea, my contribution is near 0, however being on that page is an honour for me.

True Stella Awards

The Stella Awards were inspired by Stella Liebeck. In 1992, Stella, then 79, spilled a cup of McDonald’s coffee onto her lap, burning herself. A New Mexico jury awarded her $2.9 million in damages, but that’s not the whole story. Ever since, the name “Stella Award” has been applied to any wild, outrageous, or ridiculous lawsuits — including bogus cases! We search for true cases, and you can subscribe by e-mail for free to get the case reports as they’re issued.
