Yet another Linux-based Smartphone

From prolinux.de:

Open Source Theories

Rob Landley states that

Eric [Raymond] has finally decided that the correct way to describe what’s going on in the software market is to use the Black-Scholes theory of option pricing and frame the discussion in terms of the benefits of modularization.

Interesting

Engineers, two jokes

Normal people believe that if it isn’t broke, don’t fix it. Engineers believe that if it isn’t broke, it doesn’t have enough features yet.

———–

Two engineering students were cycling across a university campus when one said,
“Where did you get such a great bike?”
The second engineer replied, “Well, I was walking along yesterday, minding my own business, when a beautiful woman rode up on this bike, threw it to the ground, took off all her clothes and said, “Take what you want.” The second engineer nodded approvingly and said, “Good choice; the clothes probably wouldn’t have fit you anyway.

Hah, nice ones, thanks Stefan!

Naturstrom

Benkler, Doctorov and schneier receive EFF Pioneer award

From the EFF press release:
Professor Yochai Benkler of Yale Law School researches the effects of laws on information, knowledge, and culture in the digital world. Benkler’s important contributions include a theoretical explanation of how the Internet has allowed decentralized groups to produce things like technologies and bodies of knowledge more efficiently than any centrally organized corporation or trade-based marketplace could. After the publication of Benkler’s most recent book, “The Wealth of Networks,” Lawrence Lessig called him “the leading intellectual of the information age.”
