Bienen

Gestern ist uns ein Bienenvolk geschwärmt. Und es hat sich bei uns im Garten niedergelassen, so dass wir ihn einfangen konnten. Absolute Premiere und sehr beeindruckend! Danke an Oliver und Almut fürs Professionelle Bienenfangen :-).

Gummierte Etiketten

Notiz an mich selber: Wenn man Honiggläser etikettieren will, kann man z.B. folgende Services benutzen.

bei 100 Etiketten je Motiv / je Etikett  €  0,43, bei 250 Etiketten je Motiv / je Etikett  €  0,33, bei 500 Etiketten je Motiv / je Etikett  €  0,27 (5.3.2021)

My CoC (Code of Conduct)

My generic code of conduct for technical discussion rooms.

  1. Apply Common Sense.
  2. Err on the side of politeness.
  3. In this community we are bonded by a common interest, we are not friends and not supposed to act like we would act towards our best friends.
  4. Electronic communication makes things prone to misunderstandings. Minimize sarcasm and other things that can easily be taken as offensive.
  5. Keep the channel ontopic. There is no need to talk about your favorite political parties or other sensitive topics in a technical channel. There are places for that. Examples are abortion, gay rights, racism, …, you get it.
  6. Never attribute to malice what can be explained by stupidity (or ignorance). Assume that people act in good faith. If not, your client has “ignore lists” for specific people.
  7. Don’t be a dog.

New Thunderbird plugins

The new world has arrived for Thunderbird 60, and many old plugins of mine stopped working. Here are the substitutes I found useful.

  1. I had been using “Nostalgy” to quickly file away messages from my INBOX into arbitrary folders. Unfortunately, Nostalgy has not survived the switch, so I use a combination of: Quick Folder move which enables the same functionality but uses SHIFT-M as hotkey and Dorando Keyconfig to keep using the old “S” from nostalgy for filing away things.
  2. I had been using the EWS Exchange plugin to connect to my employer’s Exchange server. And I use Cardbook to connect to my carddav/caldav server. Unfortunately, this has not seen an update for quite some time. I could test with the fork from here , however, I am now using a combination of TBsync which connects to both Exchange and Caldav/carddav servers, using this plugin. TBsync nicely works with CategoryManager. The one drawback of TBsync is that it does not synchronize shared calenders from EWS, apparently.

Weihnachten

Oliver hat einen Elektrobaukasten zu Weihnachten bekommen. Nach den ersten Ampeln haben wir uns bald auf den Modellschiffsbau verlegt.

Und haben aus einer Fischkonserve ein elektrisches Fischerboot gebaut. Hat Spaß gemacht.

Schicke Becher!!!

Theresa von Bodelschwingh hat ihre Internetpresenz auf formgestaltung.net eröffnet und auch einen Webshop dort eingerichtet. Schicke Becher (im Original aus Papier gefaltet) und sehr edle schicke Lampen (tatsächlich aus Papier gefaltet), sowie Leuchtrumpelwichte aus Filz. Wer Sinn für gutes Handwerk kombiniert mit Sinn für Ästethik hat, sollte dort einmal vorbeischauen.
